Blue Sky Powered Paragliding is located in beautiful Northern California about 30 minutes north of Sacramento. Our main flying site is located near the town of Wheatland. We are locally owned and operated and have provided instruction to customers from Sacramento, Yuba City, Wheatland, Chico, Oroville, Lincoln, Davis. Our out-of-state customers are generally from Reno (a short 2 hour drive) but we have had customers from Las Vegas, Ohio, and even Nigeria!
Our business opened its doors in 2000 in Vacaville, California and has steadily expanded over the years. In 2003 we relocated to Tokyo, Japan where our school flourished and our first students began training to fly. In 2007 we returned to Northern California and have been here ever since.
Our school is the Powered Paragliding (PPG) and Powered Parachute (PPC) school in the world that provides students with everything they need to train. No purchase of equipment is necessary. You can simply sign up for lessons and if you decide PPG or PPC is not for you, there is no hassle of trying to sell off equipment you purchased to get into the sport. With your lesson fee you will also receive a high quality helmet with intercom so when you purchase your equipment, you have the helmet and intercom to keep you safe!
It is highly recommended to get training before you purchase equipment. The training will provide you with the knowledge necessary to make an informed purchase instead of buying something that isn't right for you. This is not a shake n' bake school! We do not get you in and get you out. Your lessons include 60-80 hours of instruction based on how quickly you progress through our training syllabus. There is no time limit. If it takes you one week or one year we are always here for you!
We strive to ensure that every student who trains with us NEVER feels like they have to purchase equipment or anything else from us. Though we have equipment for sale, we are a school first and foremost. We train students without the sales tactics normally associated with a sport of this nature. Members of our club fly every brand of PPG in the world and while you are training you will be able to talk to other pilots to find out which unit is right for you. There is no perfect PPG or PPC much like there is no perfect automobile.
